We would like to take a moment to update our clients on the increasing focus from WorkSafe regarding the inspection and servicing of vehicle hoists, mobile lifting columns and other assets under Australian Standards within workshops across Australia.
With a significant increase in the presence of WorkSafe inspectors within workshops nationally with a focus on compliance of various equipment with mobile lifting columns, hoists and axle stands being a focus for ensuring they are Australian compliant (AS/NZS1418.9:2024) and maintained/inspected as per AS/NZS 2550.9:2024.

Safety, compliance, and reliability are central to the core values at Inca, and with an increasing emphasis on safe lifting and compliance we are re-visiting each of our clients servicing requirements to ensure you as management or an owner are aware of your responsibilities and requirements.
Our servicing policies have long aligned with, or exceeded these standards, ensuring our clients maintain both compliance and the highest level of operational safety.
- Required Inspection Intervals –
Under the Standard, vehicle hoists must undergo the following inspections:
- Pre-operational checks completed by the operator prior to use
- Routine Inspection and Maintenance at a minimum of every 90 days
- Long-term major inspections at defined lifecycle intervals
These inspections must also be recorded and maintained as part of the workshop’s compliance documentation.
Inca Lifts Recommended Service Scheduled – Every 90 days
- Service 1 – Minor Inspection
- Service 2 – Major Inspection and Service
- Service 3 – Minor Inspection
- Service 4 – Major Inspection and Service
These inspections and services are recorded in paper and digital formats and stored within our job management system.
To support our clients in maintaining compliance, we offer fixed-price servicing and inspections under our service agreement, ensuring all hoists are inspected in accordance with the relevant standard/s.
INCA SERVICE PRICING
- Travel to site: in accordance with your zone
- Minor inspection: $75.00 ex GST per post
- Major inspection: $125.00 ex GST per post*
*Inspection charges include labour for minor repairs required during inspection. Parts may apply for non-warranty or wear items.
During these visits, our technicians can also provide operator refresher training and guidance for new staff, ensuring workshops remain confident in both compliance and safe operation.
